On Day 3, we worked our way to Baden-Baden which is known for its Roman baths. The first stop was the casino. We actually chose to opt out of this excursion and decided to go for a hike. We hiked up to the "old castle," Altes Schloss. The hike up was a great chance to stretch our legs after the bus ride. On our way up to Altes Schloss, we came across one of the natural springs where we were able to stop and get some water to quench our thirsts. The castle is currently mostly ruins, but what a sight to see! Several floors of the castle were able to be navigated and the views of the Baden-Baden from the top were incredible. We ate a picnic in the castle before heading back to Baden-Baden. Upon arrival back to the city, we ran into some of our very refreshed travel buddies who told us all about their spa experiences.
